I liked it. The acting was great, i didn't laugh at all the jokes but the ones that i did, i really did. I liked the characters from Rick Flagg, Amanda Waller, Deadshot, Harley was adorable, El Diablo was cool, Joker, well, I didn't mind him. Plus there was something i laughed that reminded me of "the pencil trick" (you know the one), its the kind of something you just don't expect it and when it does you go "yep, joker would do that!" now i know a lot of scenes were cut simply because the director wanted to focus on the squad because this isn't a "batman" movie or "joker" movie.
The villain, sure was lackluster but I didn't mind. What you see is what you get and this movie had tons of characters that you had to keep up with anyway from captain boomerang (comic relief) katana (boba fett like character) rick flagg (the character we're supposed to connect with) killer croc (kind of the drax/groot like character) Harley (the cute one) Deadshot (sympathetic anti-hero) Amanda Waller (loved her, she had a backbone that would make a spinosaurous blush). Some say the villain reminds them of a particular movie but I didn't mind because they also followed up with "because I saw this movie and that movie and they all had the same setting!". to me, i haven't seen most of those movies so it didn't affect me.
Do i wish it was a tad longer? yeah sure. But Warner Bros., stop messing with your directors visions. Trust them. The sacrifice of one less showtime is the price to pay for at least better reviews thus good word of mouth thus a bit more money and credibility. a 4.7 this is not.
I'd give this a 6 or 7 out of 10. Where it stands with the DCEU I don't think i'd buy it along with Man of steel, Batman V Superman. It's a rental, a nice side dish for things to come. I don't expect every movie DC/WB turning out to be grand events like the first two movies (yeah I saw them as such.), same how I view marvel and I only bought two of that series movies (iron man 1 and winter soldier)
